Sweet Eddie is a lifetime supply of love and joy wrapped up in a tiny, portable package! This special little guy is a 1.5 year old Chihuahua that was born with congenital hydrocephalus “water on the brain”. He sometimes spins in circles, but we have had him evaluated by a neurologist at VCA West who ensures there is no reason he will not live a healthy and happy life. He has no idea he is different - he's playful, likes to go for walks, and just wants to snuggle and sleep in your arms.
He is a sweet puppy who is potty training using pee pads and going outside. Housebreaking can be a challenge with him when his symptoms flare up but during those time he wears a belly-band to keep his home clean. Eddie occasionally suffers from narcolepsy and it’s mostly when he’s playing. And since he will only weigh about 5 pounds when he is full-grown, he'll always be tiny enough to be the perfect fit! Eddie is an excellent traveling companion and quietly sits in his car seat for car rides. Eddie's ears perk up when he sees other dogs on TV and he loves trying to 'talk' to them! He's a big fan of animal-shaped toys (pint-sized, like him) and toys that have food hidden in them.
Eddie is a resilient pup that has conquered everything life has thrown at him without discouragement. Like a lot of animals he doesn’t like change and his symptoms can flare up when things are new or he’s overstimulated. He is a tiny pup with a BIG outlook on life, and ready to join the perfect family for the rest of his life! Because of his small size and fragile nature, we will only consider an adults-only home. Eddie is good with small to medium-sized dogs, both men and women as well as children. He loves playing with his foster doggie brother in his foster home. We have not cat tested him, but given his gentle nature, we predict he will be OK to live with cats. No large dogs please.
Mr. Big's heart is as large as he is! This 14 pound sweetie was declawed by his owners then they abandoned on a balcony. He was then taken in by a few different animal lovers and sheltered in a laundry room but they knew he deserved better. Now firmly aboard the Rescue Train with a one way ticket to your heart!
Mr. Big can be shy until he feels safe but quickly turns into a big lover muffin once he gets to know you. He goes bonkers over treats and loves to play with his toys and has impeccable litter box habits. He would do great as an only cat. Since he doesn't have claws to defend himself he could be with another pet only if they were a gentle animal. A mellow household would be the best place for him to thrive after all the hardships he’s been through. He prefers to sit on the lap of his human or at least nearby. He loves to have his head scratched and be told how handsome he is! He really doesn't ask much and is a very low maintenance kitty.
Mr. Big is 5 years old, litter box trained, tested negative for FIV/LUK, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated dewormed and defleaed. He would be a tremendous addition to any cat lover's home.
